Infantry Whales:
Infantry Whales are the backbone of the Mechawhale army. They are powerful mechasuits piloted by sperm whales. Sperm whales are the largest predators among the whales ever to roam the oceans of old earth and have a natural talent for violence. Their minds along with the orcas are the least likely to be affected by war. Therefore the infantry whales have the larges number of active war veterans. Their suits are the larges ones still able to fly and they have a very versatile range of weapons from miniguns to missile launchers and even artillery. Most Infantry Whales customize their weaponry over time giving each of their suits a unique look. Like all whales the sperm whales are used to the wide depths of the ocean. Being enclosed in armor makes them feel quite claustrophobic. Therefore they prefer a very open mechasuit without helmets or armor attachments directly on their body. However they prefer telling their human comrades in arms that helmets are for cowards rather then admitting their phobia. Ironically this has lead many human soldiers to fight without helmets as well to honor the courage of their whale comrades.

Tank Whales:
Tank whales are the largest mechasuits of the Whale-Human Alliance. They are piloted by only the biggest of the species like the imposing blue whales. They have lots of firepower and are very tough. However they are also slow and lack the ability to fly. Blue whales are peace loving creatures and are easily affected by the violence of war. They can only fight a very short while before their minds can no longer bear it. Therefore a tank whale is a seldom sight on the battlefield.

Tactical Whales:
Whales in tactical suits are the intermediaries between the human and whale elements of a Whale-Human Alliance strike force. They are worn by whales that always had especially good relations with humans like the beluga whales. The suits are built to fight easily among the human mecha units, especially the mark II suits. They are very mobile and capable of fast flight but lack the firepower and versatility of the infantry whales.

Commando Whales:
The commando mechas are the only suits built especially for close combat and sabotage. So far only the orca whales have been able to pilot them. They have four arms each one holding an individual close combat weapon of the whale’s choice. They also pack an impressive amount of long range missiles for sabotage actions. Orcas are the whales who have adapted to war the best. Therefore they can perform missions that even the sperm whales would have scruples to do.

Scout Whales:
While most whale suits have some ability to fly the scout suits were especially built for fast flight and air combat. They also sport a wide range of scanning and communication equipment. They are mostly piloted by narwhales who enjoy not being involved too closely in the action. However if push comes to shove they are formidable fighters. They are known for their crazy airdives where they pick enemies from the battlefield with their steel enhanced horns.  Scout Whale
